Need help with public housing concern

Question

Hello! As the title says, I need some help.

My family and I will soon have an appointment with the housing supervisor in Hong Kong.

I currently live with my parents, and I understand that the supervisor requires an income assessment. I haven’t had a full-time job for the past few years. However, I did some freelance work for a friend and received payments through PayPal. At the moment, I’m actively looking for a full-time job but haven’t been successful yet.

The problem is that I don’t have savings in my bank account. I prefer to keep cash and only deposit money when I need to make online purchases. I’m sure the supervisor will ask why I haven’t been working for so long and how I’ve been supporting myself without a stable income. How should I explain my situation?

Since my bank statements don’t show much activity, what documents can I provide for the income assessment? If I manage to find a full-time or part-time job after the interview, will I need to submit additional documents? I’m concerned that my situation might affect my parents’ eligibility for public housing.

I'd really appreciate if someone here knows what the interview process is like and answer some of my question. Thank you.
