Is red light therapy fine if I put tapes on my melasma?

I have been hearing all about the benefits of red light therapy on skin and overall health but I heard it can worsen melasma so I disregarded it.

However I have been thinking lately if putting tapes over my upper lip area (where my melasma is) would protect the area COMPLETELY?

Also if I buy a panel and only use it on my body does that work?

Has anyone tried anything similar?

Also I recently read that melasma can be a consequence of PCOS which I probably have and was then triggered with sun exposure, so not sure if that plays a role?

Also has anyone just tried red therapy with melasma in general?
