Transitioning from Bank to SaaS/Tech based companies

Hi everyone,

Looking to connect with folks who’ve successfully transitioned from a highly structured, bureaucratic setup (think traditional banking) into SaaS or tech-first organizations — not startups, but mature tech companies.

I’ve been actively exploring opportunities, but breaking into non-bank orgs has been tougher than expected. Even fintech roles seem more competitive right now given market uncertainty — and my 3-month notice period doesn’t help.

Engineer + MBA

~7 years total experience (5.5 years in Product)

Currently a PM at a Large Pvt Indian bank

Base: ₹29.5 LPA (seeking a meaningful correction along with role shift)

Academics: Tier 3 Engg, Tier 2 MBA (maybe 1.5 on a good day)
