A Rundown on Solar Skimmer Bots

Was doing a deep dive (lol) into pool maintenance stuff after someone told me I spend way too much time getting junk off the surface, leaves, bugs, pollen, all that stuff. I thought that was normal honestly. basically I was advised to switch to a robotic cleaner but cuz i got super invested i found these solar powered skimmers(this one in particular) so im leaning towards them now. Apparently theyve been a thing for some time lol and its just me who wasnt aware.

Thing is, it runs entirely on solar power so it moves around the pool all day. Like you don’t have to plug it in or hook it up to your pool pump cuz it recharges itself during the day and stores enough to keep going through the night. Doesnt get sun damaged either.

few other lil details that might help:

  • works in both saltwater and chlorine pools
  • Has radar sensors so it doesn’t get stuck
  • brushless motor = quieter and longer lifespan
  • basket itself is fine so it catches pollen and smaller particles that skimmers usually miss

There are 2 downsides tho but i think those can be worked around. Like it needs a clear surface to navigate so if your pool is full of toys, floats or has a lot of corners, it will trip. also the basket is easy to clean but if you’ve got tons of debris daily , you’ll still need to empty it pretty often.
