To estimate the actual vote share of proportional representation, we removed the votes of parties and independents that received less than 3 percent from the total countable votes. Since there are many independent candidates, we removed their votes because the proportional reach of the people who voted for independents would be dispersed.

Using the linear regression method, which is considered the simplest to calculate directly, it appears that 32.9 percent of the vote is needed to win 50 percent of the seats. When removing the votes of parties (8.8 percent) and independents (4.8 percent) that received less than 3 percent of the votes, the proportional contribution of that 32.9 percent vote becomes about 38 percent. Which seems to only strengthen 42 seats (38 percent) out of the total proportional 110 seats.

Combining both, it seems that adding 42 to 82.5 percent will only bring it to 125 seats (45 percent) out of a total of 270 seats. Therefore, by converting the direct votes of those eight general elections into direct and proportional contributions (in the same proportion) and adopting linear regression, we have estimated from our study that 37.5 percent of the votes would be required to bring 50 percent of the total 275 seats.

According to the regression equation, 37.5 percent of the vote will help secure 57 percent of the 165 seats, or 94 seats, while the remaining 44 seats will be obtained through proportional representation (adding 44 to the total of 94 gives 138 seats, or 50.2 percent).
