CMV: The Quote "Luck is when preparation meets opportunity" has nothing to do with the concept of luck.

People that deny that luck exists and that its all down to hard work and smart decisions, love this quote. Yet this quote doesnt make much sense and has nothing do do with luck.

The definition of luck is when things you have no (or limited) control over turn out in your favor. Thats luck.

Being prepared for an opportunity? Thats not luck, thats planning. So this quote has nothing to do with luck, but with planning instead.

It also makes not much sense. Because people cannot be prepared all the time for a potential opportunity.

Also for many people that are prepared, opportunity would never come. Meaning that acording to this quote, they would never even get the chance to get lucky.
