Endometriosis fears
Okay. This might be long. It might be repetitive. It will be TMI. I don't know. 32yo, and I have fibroids and PCOS with severe anemia.
In the past year, I have had severe bowel and period changes. Colonoscopy and endoscopy have ruled most GI issues out. I have 2 small fibroids, follicles and cysts, but not a LOT.
My transvaginal and outer ultrasounds showed the aforementioned things, as did a CT scan.
My gyno is requesting more blood tests for my PCOS/hormones, to then move forward and suppress my periods, which are viciously painful and have me bleeding through triple-layered 12hr pads in 3 hours.
He said the endometrial lining "looks fine" and even showed me the ultrasound images.
But I keep hearing from actual women who have had it that it might still be endo. I also have recently had a little pain during penetration. Not much, but I used to have none. That's new.
I researched endo symptoms and I have all but one (I don't want kids; no idea if I'm infertile because I never tried to get pregnant and take precautions during sex).
How do I discuss checking for endo with laparoscopy, since I hear those other tests might/usually miss it? I did send an email via MyChart to him, noting EVERY single symptom and what we already ruled out. If he agrees without further discussion to check, what is recovery like? I am mid-move out of state as well as slammed with work. What are the chances he refuses? My insurance isn't great, so getting a second opinion will be difficult. (I am in the USA, for reference.)
