How does everyone imagine Fletcher's hair?

This is a long-lasting question of mine, but I genuinely don't understand why everyone laughs at Fletcher's hair. I keep seeing good fanart about it and it isn't as laughable as I thought it would be while reading the books. It's quite cute, really. Thoughts?
