[March 4th, 1946] Soviet tanks invade Iran's Azerbaijan region, sparking the "Iran crisis". A US Consul would later comment, "Though not a shot was fired, the Battle of Azerbaijan was as significant in its outcome as Bunker Hill, Bull Run, or the First Battle of the Marne."
