How do I stop putting some one I really admire on a pedestal

Hi Reddit,

Lately, I’ve noticed that I’ve been feeling really drained because I’ve been putting my crush on a pedestal. She’s 18F and I’m 19M. It’s hard not to view her that way, but I don’t think it’s great for my mental health.

She makes me really happy, and I feel safe when I’m around her. But here’s the problem: I do a lot of nice things for her. Nothing over the top — just chivalrous stuff like opening doors, walking on the outside of the sidewalk, that kind of thing. The biggest thing was that we’ve gone on about two dates, and her birthday was coming up, so I got her her favorite flower.

Even so, I still view her in this almost “higher being” kind of way. I’m worried I’m going to lose myself in it because it’s happened before with a pass crush. I need advice on how to ground myself — or even whether I should still be talking to her. I just want to handle this in the most mature way possible.
