I wanted ArgoCD’s reconciliation model (drift detection, health monitoring, sync waves, self-healing). I run Docker Compose not Kubernetes. Every existing tool was either push-based (Kamal, Watchtower) or a full platform (Portainer). Nothing gave me the continuous reconciliation loop I actually wanted. So I built dockercd. It runs as a single container, mounts the Docker socket, polls your Git repos, and continuously reconciles your running services against the desired state in your compose files. When something drifts — or a container dies unexpectedly — it brings everything back.

What it does:

∙	Polls Git on a configurable interval + instant deploys via push webhooks

∙	Computes a field-level diff (image, env, ports, volumes) before every deploy

∙	Sync waves: deploy services in order using container labels

∙	Pre/post-sync hook containers (migrations, cache warming)

	∙	Blue-green zero-downtime deployments

∙	Self-healing: subscribes to the Docker event stream and re-deploys if containers stop externally

∙	Web UI with a resource tree, live logs, sync history, and metrics

∙	Full REST API + CLI

Install modes:

∙	Standalone — just dockercd, points at GitHub

∙	Bundle — full self-hosted stack: dockercd + Gitea + Docker Registry + PostgreSQL. Git push → auto-deploy in \~3 minutes, no internet required

Single static Go binary, \~15MB image, SQLite for persistence. No agents, no complex setup.
