Looking for friends for chatting

Long-term

Looking for folks to chat with

Heya there.

Well, not entirely sure the best way to fill this out so I'll data vomit and refine in later attempts lol.

Age: 38

Gender: Male

Status: Happily married.

Nationality: Canadian.

Looking for: Just general lowkey chatting. Get to know some folks, make some chatting friends. People to discuss life with with some similar interests to build off of. Gender and age doesn't matter to me tbh. Always something to learn from other people's lived experiences.

Interests: extremely wide and varied.

- Animals, with a preference for dogs. I am a massive dog lover, and own 3 with a long term foster. I've volunteered with rescues doing everything from 16 hour drives to bring in a rescue dog, to sitting with a dog as she was put down due to health issues so she didn't feel alone.

- Reading: News daily, though not to the point of dooming, and mostly for my own satisfaction as talking politics with people nowadays is awful lol. Also read web novels, Light novels, fantasy, Sci-fi, drama, biographies. Anything that catches my eye.

- Gaming: a bit? I used to be a big gamer, but I've pulled back on that dramatically for more healthy and active activities. Although I do still play sometimes.

- Hiking / Outdoors; due to 4 dogs, I am out ALOT AS 3 of them have to be walked separately. This means I do around 15+ KM a day of hiking in good weather, and 5Km+ in bad weather (ie. -20c or lower.)

- Gym: I started at the gym recently for the first time. Still little idea what I'm doing, but it's enjoyable so far.

- History: everything from ancient Egypt to modern history. there's fascinating things to learn in each era.

- Psychology: I went through ALOT, and my method of working through it was to understand the various parts of my brain, it's tendencies and how it worked to get me to the point I am, and how my traumas could direct my development. it's been interesting.

- Cooking: I Do most of the cooking in my house. My brain has this weird ability to just envision what various ingredients will taste like together, which has made cooking a fun experience for me. From "fancier" foods like Coq au Vin to comfy street food like Portuguese bifanas, to standard fare like homemade lasagna or Irish peasant stew. Tho most are probably best described as inspired by these meals as I often modify the recipes to my tastes.

Hopefully this is good enough lol
