Question : does “taking it slow” from a guy comes across as a red flag?

NSFWDating & Relationships [Wed/Fri] (Women Only)

I'm a guy who takes a long time to get emotionally invested. For me, intimacy needs to fall into place naturally. I don't want it forced by boredom, loneliness, or just "seeking pleasure" for the sake of it.

Most of you might relate to this, I have realised that I have a barrier for people to enter my personal space. It takes time for me to let someone in, and frankly, it takes just as long for my body and mind to let them go if things don't work out.

I've been in situations where taking it slow is looked down upon or seen as "not alpha." or "masculine" If a woman is ready for something casual or wants to rush the physical side and I back out, the energy shifts instantly. Some say they understand but go cold; others take it as a personal offence. As to how can a guy "not want it"

I'm not a prude and I'm not judging anyone else's needs. I actually appreciate women who are expressive about their desires, it’s much better than “guessing" the vibe. I mean the society has suppressed them for years already.

I do like and enjoy sex and the act of it. But to me, intimacy is sensual and holds value, it shouldn't feel mechanical, if that makes sense?

Sometimes I do wonder if I'm overthinking it and missing out on the "fun" everyone else seems to have so easily. But forcing it just feels hollow to me.

Would to hear from the women here as to How do you perceive a man who wants to wait for an emotional connection?

Does a guy taking a step back from early physical intimacy feel like a rejection in some way? Or come across as weird? Or do you see it as him valuing the connection?

Also, Am I missing out on something here that I haven't considered?
