39 wks and barely dilated

Im having feelings about my 39 weeks check up today.

Mixture of disappointment and nervousness....

Prior to my cervical exam, we discussed the possibility of her doing a membrane sweep if I was more than 3 cm dilated - which COULD possibly Jumpstart my labor in 24-48 hrs. Even through Im over being pregnant, I felt terrified and nervous.

When the midwife did my cervical exam, she told me that Im 1.5 cm dialated and 50% effaced. Which led to feelings of disappointment....I've been doing all the natural things - dates, evening primrose capsules, pumping, self stimulation and orgasm, curb walking, my husband and I have had sex a few times - which we haven't dont the majority of my pregnancy - and only 1.5 cm dilated and 50% effaced.

I know in the grand scheme of things that can change really quick BUT I also felt like I was making more progress than that. I've been having period like cramps, my face is breaking out in almost a rash, nesting, peeing every 5 mins....for weeks now! I honestly thought I was going to be in labor this past weekend.

All these women keep telling me "your body will know when the baby is ready, I know its tough, just be patience".
