Sharing what Sarang thought me in her 8.8 years, CKD was cruel to her…
Heaven, Jannah, Paradise, The Rainbow Bridge… however we may call it, has gained back an angel — the one being I love the most on Mar 3rd, 2026
My most loyal, loving, intelligent, cheeky, resilient, and sweetest girl…
my Sarang (my Lovie, my Princess, my little Potatooo) (in Korean her name means “love”)
I want to believe — for the sake of my sanity & my broken heart — that Sarang is now healthy, free, and doing all the things she loves with the most beautiful sparkle in those yellow eyes…Eyes which i will miss the most…
I truly feel she stayed a little longer because she didn’t want to leave me, my mom and my brother behind. Everywhere i went or took her, she always searched for me. She was my little “tail,” always following, always watching, always choosing me. 🥹
I know she understood when I whispered to her that it’s okay to go, and that one day, we will meet again. I promised her I would be okay — even if I am shattered — because I lost my best friend, my only child, and the Love of my life.
I will never be the same without her.
Life will never feel the same without her.
But Sarang leaves behind a Legacy
I want to share:
Be present.
She taught me that what truly matters is the moment in front of you. Whenever I was distracted on my phone and she needed my attention, she reminded me that LOVE lives in the present.
Speak kindly to yourself.
I always told Sarang how beautiful, perfect, and loved she was. I saw how it comforted her. Even on quiet days, she knew she was worthy just by existing. We deserve to tell ourselves the same — even when no one else does.
Boundaries.
Sarang showed me that love and boundaries can coexist. When she didn’t want to be touched, kissed, or disturbed, she chose her space unapologetically. She taught me that saying “NO” is also a form of self-respect.
Strength.
My fierce Lovie fought so hard — through sickness, treatments, and every Vet — with a spirit stronger than anything I have ever seen. Even when she was weak, her will to stay was powerful. I hope to carry even a fraction of her strength when life feels unbearable.
Forgiveness.
There were moments I was tired, distracted, or even upset at her little mischiefs… and yet, she always came back to me with love. No grudges. No distance. Just pure forgiveness. I hope to learn to forgive small things in life the way she did — and return to love just as easily.
Sarang was never “just a pet.”
She is a part of my family, my bestest friend, my only child, my heart…
