Suggestion: be careful with rentals in Limerick

Hey all, just felt to do a post about rental in this city. Please be extra careful when you see an apartment and be vigilant of mould and also look at the non superficial level of cleaning which is a good indication of the level of cleaning. I was quite shocked to see the very low standard of hygiene in this city, apartments are disgusting. I rented a place that looked ok on the surface but when I moved in I had to buy a steam cleaner to truly clean everything. Landlords are terrible and play on the fact that there is a shortage of accommodation around to do pretty much why they do. Mould affects lung health on the long term, so don’t underestimate it. To be fair, after almost one year leaving in this city I have big regrets or moving here. Just be very vigilant, and plan a long time ahead if you decide to relocate to Limerick and also best strategy is to buy a car and stay outside the city or your salary will pretty much go into rent and expenses.
