Monster, She Wrote- Kroger & Anderson

Book Review

I grabbed this book from my library's local Women's Month Display. It's about "the women who pioneered horror & speculative fiction".

After a brief history of each author there are recommended readings of the author or modern novels with similar themes.

This is a treasure trove of book recommendations and also extremely educational. Some familiar names featured include Mary Shelley, V.C Andrews, and Anne Rice, but there are dozens I haven't heard of.

Now if you excuse me I'm about to go hunt up Mary Shelly's book 'Mathilda'. The book said it's so taboo and steamy I didn't get published until 1959!
