Repair advice - peeling headband

Adhesive is failing on my headphones after ~12 months of use. I've used superglue on a previous pair of headphones, but found that it created a hard, rock-like and scratchy material out of the fabric.

Any suggestions on a softer drying adhesive, or some other way of repairing or replacing the headband?
