🚨 OPERATION METRO SURGE MAY BE WINDING DOWN. THE FIGHT FOR ACCOUNTABILITY IS JUST BEGINNING. 🚨

The federal agents who killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti are still free. Minnesota children taken from schools are not all home. And the federal government hasn’t answered a single official request for evidence or explanation.

Minnesota isn’t waiting.

Right now:

• Hennepin County and Ramsey County prosecutors are actively investigating federal agents.

• Governor Walz is demanding answers about missing children and federal activity.

• State legislators are pushing the ICE Accountability Agenda to prevent this from ever happening again.

⸻

⚖️ HENNEPIN COUNTY: 17 ACTIVE INVESTIGATIONS

Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty is investigating:

• The killing of Renee Good, shot in her car by ICE.

• The killing of Alex Pretti, shot 10 times by Border Patrol while trying to help a woman.

• Chemical agents thrown at protesters and students.

Despite federal silence, Moriarty is ready to fight in court and hold agents accountable. She’s also launched the Transparency and Accountability Project (TAP) for community evidence submissions.

⸻

🏙️ RAMSEY COUNTY: VICTIMS ARE COMING FORWARD

Ramsey County Attorney John Choi is reviewing felonies committed by federal agents, including:

• A Hmong man and Somali-American woman detained by ICE.

• Alberto Castañeda Mondragón, who suffered catastrophic head injuries while in federal custody — eight skull fractures and brain hemorrhaging that hospital staff say are inconsistent with the federal government’s account of what happened.

Like Moriarty, Choi faces federal subpoenas — but he is still investigating.

⸻

👦 GOVERNOR WALZ: FIND THE CHILDREN

Governor Walz is demanding answers about children detained by federal agents.

• Some, like 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos, are home.

• Others — including a 10-year-old girl and a 17-year-old student, last reported in federal custody — may still be detained.

He’s asking for weekly updates and filing FOIA requests. No response yet.

⸻

🏛️ STATE LEGISLATURE: ICE ACCOUNTABILITY AGENDA

Bills in progress include:

• State oversight: BCA involvement when Minnesotans are killed by federal agents.

• Transparency: No masks, visible ID for all law enforcement.

• Civil remedies: Let Minnesotans sue federal agents in state court.

• Safe spaces: Keep federal agents out of schools, hospitals, and childcare.

• Medical aid: Agents must render aid to people they shoot.

The Senate can pass the bills. The House is tied. Your voice matters.

And Minnesota legislators will be casting those votes this week in the same moment Congress is deciding whether a president can start a war without asking anyone first. The question is the same in both chambers: does this administration answer to anyone?

⸻

🌍 THIS IS BIGGER THAN MINNESOTA

Minnesota legislators are voting on ICE accountability bills this week in the same week Congress is voting on whether a president can take the country to war without asking anyone first.

That is not a coincidence. It is the same fight.

Last Saturday, Trump launched surprise military strikes on Iran — without asking Congress. No debate. No vote. The strikes killed Iran’s supreme leader and more than 500 others. American troops have already been killed.

This week, the House and Senate are both voting on bipartisan war powers resolutions that would require the president to get congressional approval before taking the country to war. All four of Minnesota’s Dem delegation members are on board: Senators Klobuchar and Smith in the Senate, Reps. McCollum and Omar in the House. The Republican members? We’ll see.

Whether or not the resolutions pass, the votes are still accountability. Every senator and representative who votes no is on the record — before the next escalation, before the next American casualty, before the next decision made in secret. A veto doesn’t erase that vote. It just makes it more visible.

It’s the same playbook Minnesota has been living with for months. Act first. Answer to no one. Subpoena anyone who asks questions.

Mary Moriarty asks for evidence in the killing of Renee Good. Silence — then a federal grand jury subpoena against Moriarty herself. Congress asks for a vote before the next war. Silence — then the bombs drop and American troops come home in flag-draped coffins.

One administration. One pattern. Zero accountability. Well Minnesota is not talking that as an answer.

⸻

⚡ ONE MORE THING

Some people are asking: can’t Trump just pardon the agents who killed Renee Good and Alex Pretti?

Here’s what they may not know: the presidential pardon power only covers federal crimes.

Mary Moriarty and John Choi are filing state charges, in Minnesota courts, under Minnesota law.

No pardon covers that.

📌 WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Hennepin County: Submit evidence via the TAP portal (link in first comment).

• Ramsey County: Call 911 or local police if a federal agent committed a felony.

• State legislators: Find out where your rep stands — and tell them what you think.

• Congress: Call your senators and rep this week. The war powers votes are happening now.

Operation Metro Surge killed, injured, separated families, and traumatized communities. The federal agents responsible are counting on being forgotten.

The administration starting wars without Congress is counting on you being too exhausted to pay attention.

Minnesota is not forgetting.
