Back again with questions

I had my CIUD inserted last week, the bleeding has stopped, spotting, and cramping stopped.

I was wondering when should I check for the strings? And what am I looking for exactly? How long should they be, how should they feel? Sorry I’m so confused with this haha and I’m scheduling an appointment with my doctor who placed it to do an ultrasound after my second period with it.
