Preparing for YG Entertainment second round — what should I focus on for rap?
Hi everyone! I’ve just submitted my first-round audition for YG Entertainment, and I’m starting to prepare for the possible second round. I want to focus on the rap category and make sure I choose a song that shows my skills and style.
I’m wondering:
Should I prepare a different song from the first round or something similar?
Is it better to choose a K-pop rap or an English/Korean rap that shows my own style?
Any song examples that are popular or recommended for rap auditions? For example, songs like:
“DDU-DU DDU-DU” – BLACKPINK (rap parts)
“Lifted” – CL
“As If It’s Your Last” – BLACKPINK (rap parts)
“Love Scenario” – iKON (rap sections)
Any other suggestions you’ve seen work well for YG auditions?
How long is a typical second-round performance?
Do judges focus more on flow, pronunciation, confidence, or stage presence at this stage?
Are visual appeal and expressions also important in this round?
I want to prepare properly and avoid common mistakes, so any advice, experiences, or song recommendations would be super helpful. Thanks so much!
