Emirates DXB-BOM-DXB flight 6–14 Mar booked — flights reportedly cancelled until 7 Mar 23:59, do I need to cancel myself or will Emirates refund automatically?

Hey everyone,

I’ve got an Emirates booking DXB-BOMaDXB from 6 Mar to 14 Mar. Just saw the news that Emirates has suspended scheduled flights until 7 Mar 23:59.

I’ve been trying to call Emirates on 600 555 555 for 2 days straight but the line is always busy.

Questions I have:

1. Do I need to cancel the booking myself, or will Emirates automatically refund if they cancel the flight?

2. If I cancel, will I lose rights to a full refund?

3. Has anyone here already received a refund or rebooking info?

4. Is it better to wait for Emirates to cancel before asking for a refund?
