Old Japanese robot toy from the 2000s

Anyone remember a toy line (probably Japanese) that had customizable figures that looked like Minecraft characters?

the armor pieces were detachable and interchangeable, and each set would have a core humanoid robot frame that had 4 wheels. it would come with armor pieces that allowed him to transform into a larger robot or a vehicle or animal.

any help would be appreciated!!
