GoDaddy review: any real user experiences?

I’m trying to set up my first website for my small business, and I’m feeling really overwhelmed by GoDaddy. I thought I was getting a good deal on a domain, but during the checkout process, they tried to sell me a million different things I don’t think I need. It was so confusing and I felt like they were trying to trick me into buying stuff. Now I’m worried that I’m going to get hit with a bunch of hidden fees or that my renewal price is going to be insane. I’ve been reading some reviews and I’m seeing a lot of complaints about huge price hikes and shady billing practices. It’s making me wonder if GoDaddy is even a legitimate company. Did I make a mistake by going with them? Should I try to get a refund and go somewhere else? I just want a simple, honest hosting provider.
