Accusing UPI outside of India

i will be traveling to US with my sim card that I used to register with UPI. i will not be taking out of my phone but will have no International Roaming although I will have internet via WiFi. will I be able to use my BHIM or PhonePe app and process payments without any issues provided I'm not taking my Sim card out?

I would prefer someone who has gone through similar situation and have any recent experience. thank you
