Could someone please explain why in god's name Cole isn't playing on the left wing on the power play?

So last season, Cole starts the season playing LW on PP1 and bags 7 goals in 23 games in Oct/Nov.

Laine comes and takes his spot on PP1 and scores 15 goals in 53 games (actually a worse rate than Cole was having, but ok, it's understandable b/c of his shot).

So this season, once Laine is out, does Cole get his spot back? No. Suzuki's been there almost the whole season. This last game vs. the Sharks was frustrating b/c Nick had several chances to shoot from there and just doesn't. And even in the dying minutes on the 6 on 5, Nick is again on the LW, and passed up some shot opportunities.

We will have an excellent PP1 regardless, but I feel like Lane running the show, Cole and Demi on the wings (2 great shots), Slaf in front of the net, and Suzy floating would be #1 PP in the league. I just don't get it.
