Would you consider the 3rd century BC as one of the most eventful and interesting time periods in history?

5 great states (Carthage, Rome, Macedon, Seleukids and Egypt) battling over the supremacy of the Mediterrenean. Golden age of Alexandria and Greek science - Euclid, Eratosthenes, Archimedes, ... Unique warfare with elephants. Epic battles such as the 2nd Punic war (Hannibal crossing the Alps) and the 4th Syrian war (African elephants pitted against Indian elephants).

It seems to me that this era really stands out amongst others in terms of scientific discoveries, war tactics and the number of events remembered across history every after. Would you agree?
