Next step to recover unpaid wages (England)

Civil Litigation

Hi all, looking for some advice on enforcing a CCJ against a former employer.

I took a small limited company to court for unpaid wages and obtained a judgment for about £3,500. I transferred the judgment to High Court Enforcement Officers, but they were unable to recover anything. The company had already been locked out of its commercial premises by the landlord for unpaid rent, and the enforcement officers said the items inside weren’t worth enough to justify forcing entry.

The company is still active at Companies House but hasn’t filed accounts for a long time. Another former employee and I have objected to it being struck off so our claims remain open.

The director now appears to be promoting himself on social media as the managing director of a new building/construction business, but it doesn’t appear to be registered as a limited company.

I’m considering applying for an Order to Obtain Information (N316A) to require the director to attend court and disclose the company’s financial situation.

Does this sound like the best next step, or are there other enforcement options worth considering in this situation?
