New Ambient Lo-Fi EP "Berry", created using only the Arturia Microfreak.

Self-promotion

I haven't produced any new music in some time. I have been dabbling and tinkering since around 2015, with ambient always being a genre that I find myself coming back to. This project was originally composed in 2021, and in my efforts to reignite some consistency, I am making it available now for the first time.

As the title states, only the Arturia Microfreak was used for this project in terms of gear. I have been a long time FL Studio user, but the only additional plugins was Fruity Reverb 2 and Maximus on the master. I actually didn't use any midi tracking for the composition at all, instead I played all of the individual parts by hand which gives it a more organic feel.

I have always enjoyed sonic and textural exploration in my work, and there is a stripped down quality that this project has that I think works well. The Microfreak is such a versitile piece of gear too, I find that the digital patch bay for the filters and such makes it very intutive to go off the beaten path as it were. Its actual keyboard is genuinely something I have never seen before, so it defintely takes some getting used to, but I didn't find it too bad getting used to.

When these tracks were originally composed, it was a period of change and painful inevitability that inspired this projects more heartfelt and nostalgic feel.

This project, was well as my older work, is available on my bandcamp under the free/name your price model. Enjoy, and I'd love to hear what you think!
