Anyone have any experience with a metatarsal stress injury (reaction/fracture)

Monday I was walking around fine and Tuesday morning I had to stop running and walk home, which has never happened to me before. Now i can barely walk. I have all of the characteristic signs of a 3rd mt stress injury. Just trying to see if anyone else has any similar experiences and hear what helped and what your journey was like.
