How would a universal basic income policy be implemented in a fully automated economy ?

Given how quickly robotics and digital automation is growing, Im predicting that most jobs including manual labour will not exist in another ~25 years.

The cost of producing goods/services will decrease drastically but they will still have a non-zero price. Individuals would need some form of government assistance to pay for basic needs and yet there is not much discussion about this problem in the UK.

Will it be an extension of the current welfare system through high taxes on business profits ?

Or will the country move to a socialist style economy where industries are owned by the consumers themselves ?
