Need Suggestion ASAP

Hi everyone,

I’m a 27-year-old male. For some time now, I’ve been having a stabbing-type pain around my heart area and sometimes in my shoulders. I also feel a burning sensation in my chest. I was seen by a doctor and was told it is GERD-related, and I’m currently taking the medications they prescribed.

However, over the past few days, I’ve started having trouble breathing, especially while eating and swallowing food. When I lie down to sleep, during the first few minutes I feel significant shortness of breath. In the last two days, this breathing issue has become more noticeable and concerning.

I’m worried and not sure which specialist I should consult — should I see an ENT doctor or a gastroenterologist for GERD?

I would really appreciate any advice. Thank you.
