Adjusting the ranked ladder.... again
4 years where I can't tell what a rank stands for because riot keeps flip flopping. Changing how easy it is for a certain rank to be achieved is upsetting. I've gone from s1, p3, g4, p1 and I can't tell if it's the same rank or not because of the back and forth changes. I can't tell if I'm getting better, staying the same, or getting worse.
If riot is going to continuously keep adjusting what a rank means every season can we consider the removal of safety nets that degrade ladder integrity?
Having demotion protection between ranks was always bad for ladder health. With the removal of promotion games it's even worse. I know it was nerfed, I know riot have an adjusted loss that drops you 25, 50, 75 after shield if you still lose but a straight up removal should be next. Why play this weird game when we can just have smooth transitions that are more accurate and require less adjustments.
If riots changes are truly about accurate rank placement and not just about making the dwindling player base feel better about their rank I hope they'll consider this.
Honestly I'm not even sure if I'm focused on the right thing. I feel like I'm just ranting about the first thing that frustrated me after hearing that riot is boosting everyone again after the fiasco of +30, -10 from the start of the season.
