Exchanging Chanel Gift with no Receipt

Hi I got gifted a Chanel make up pouch and want to exchange it for something I think I’d use more, but have no receipt. I have the tag but the price is cut off. Do you think they’ll let me exchange or get store credit? I’m scared bc it’s an expensive store.
