Is it just me, or is this "strategy" thing a myth?

Went to the casino for the first time last night with $50. Walked up to a random slot, hit the button three times, and won $1,500. Honestly, I don't see what the big deal is. People talk about "house edge" and "losing streaks," but I just walked in and took their money. Is it really that hard to just walk away when you're up? I feel like I’ve cracked the code.
