Creative Parking Citation Appeal
I'm a uni student and recently got a (deserved) parking ticket. This was my second citation within the school year, the initial of which was appealed in November. I didn't want to pay $55, so I considered a creative approach. I wrote this silly poem based loosely off of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven" and... got my ticket dismissed! Like, poof! Clean off my record, as though it was never there. Here's what I wrote (without any AI assistance) with potentially revealing information altered/redacted:
Once upon a midnight dreary, A [college] student faced a query:
Should she park at Student Transit, or comfortably right here, and chance it?
“Tis no trouble,” she coyly mumbled, “I’ll be fine, of this I’m sure.”
And so she chose, and nothing more.
Ah, distinctly she remembered: it was in the bleak November
Of last year, wherein she pleaded as the parking heathen does: “Tis an instance once repeated, and ne’er shall I sin again.”
And kindly then was she forgiven, trusted after her defense.
Yet nigh again is her transgression, a Lot 108 oppression;
as her Honda carriage stood, a ticket tucked betwixt its hood, the student gasped aloud once more;
She’d promised once, that no time more
Would she violate the ruling of the Parking Master’s law.
And now, in heightened hopes she begs, guilty tail between the legs:
If another meager time the Lords could withdraw their bows and swords,
And anew acquit the student, who just has a way with words.
