Original writing and Spanish localization

Discussion

This is something that’s bugged me ever since I first played the game a few years ago.

I’m Spanish, and I moved to the UK in 2011 in my mid-20s. I’ve been living and working here ever since, but no matter how many years pass, I’ll never feel as comfortable in English as I do in Spanish. My self-expression just isn't the same.

Because of that, I find it hard to wrap my head around how a bunch of 'pretentious' Estonian artists were able to write such a masterpiece in a language that isn't their mother tongue. They are clearly geniuses way smarter than I am, but this is something that intrigues me. Does anyone know much about their writing process?

On a different note, I have a friend who, after years of 'bullying' from me, is finally going to start the game. He knows English but would prefer to play in Spanish. Does anyone know if the Spanish translation is any good? Does it hold up, or is it better to just stick to English?

PS: I don't mean 'pretentious Estonian artists' in a derogatory way; I’m just highlighting the fact that they weren't exactly trained linguists or native speakers.
