Thoughts on Lofi One?

I’m looking to get a new player as my old Walkman broke down and I have no way to fix it. I used to have a FiiO but it broke the second week I had it and I had to return it. I’m looking at the Lofi One (the purple one but it’s out of stock for now) and the Maxell Mxcp-p100.

To be completely honest I don’t have much money to spend on this so the Lofi looks good but I wanted to get some opinions on it first. I heard that there may be some speed issues that can be fixed with a tiny screwdriver. Is the sound quality ok? I’m not super into sound stuff but I’d like to be able to hear what I’m listening to.
