"Prohibited Winter Notice to Terminate" - Should i push back on this?
Reviewing a lease for a condo (5/19/26 – 4/30/27) and wanted a gut check on this clause before signing. There's no buyout option in the lease either. Should i push back? Or is this market.
"57. Prohibited Winter Notice to Terminate: Notwithstanding anything to the contrary herein, Tenant is prohibited from giving notice to terminate the Agreement with a lease end date in November through February of any calendar year, even if the lease is on a month-to-month term, unless approved in writing by the owner. If Tenant(s) give notice to terminate during the prohibited period of November through February, the Tenant shall be responsible for continuing to pay rent through the end of the prohibited winter period, even if the Tenant vacates the premises."
