As a 38yo with a family, is services a good job?

I believe I missed the boat on picking a hoo-rah job, and that will have to be OK. Im being offered a services job with a large bonus at a base 2 hours away.

Can anyone that has worked services share their experience? Are you happy with you life there? Thanks!
