[M4F] New neighbors, new connections

"Ugghhh" was what escaped my lips as I entered the lobby of my apartment building, stopping just inside the doors as I let the cold air of the air conditioning system waft over me, cooling me down during this heat wave. Even the short walk from my parking spot to the front door had me almost dripping with sweat.

I took a deep breath as I made my way to the elevators, hitting the up button and being glad that only one of the elevators was set to Service Mode. It was the first of the month, and new move-ins were likely to have taken up a few of the elevators today.

I wondered if the apartment across the hall from me, Tom's, would be filled today or not. It had been empty for a couple months, and a new face in the building would be nice. My thoughts on the matter were interrupted by the dinging of the elevator as I reached my floor, and the doors slid open.

I could already see a pile of boxes down the hall, and it did look to be right across from my door, so it looked like I had a new neighbor. I had a bit more energy suddenly, as I walked over the the door of Tom's old apartment. I saw the door was propped open with another box, and I knocked on the door and spoke into the open apartment.

"Hey, I'm Pete, your neighbor across the hall. Need a hand moving in?" I say, wondering who my new neighbor is.
