Hollow Boys Series

Guyssss I just finished the first book and tbh it wasnt the best read. I felt like the characters had no real emotional connection and the plot was also lowk not plotting yk. Should I continue the series?? I’m unsure because everyone is always talking about it. Like do the other books have some deeper stuff in them and actually interesting things going on??!
