G30 Cluster restore

Hi all, so i recently got a g30 and it came with the alpina cluster installed by the previous owner. When I took her back to the bmw shop to have them restored to the original ones was told that i was not possible and it kept crashing when they tried to reverse the changes.

Is this something any of you have come across before? And can they be restored with bimmercode?
