IEM mic works on MacBook but not on PS5 — is this a PS5 limitation?

Hey everyone,

I’m using a pair of IEMs that have an inline microphone. The mic works perfectly on my MacBook (both input and output), but when I plug the same IEMs into my PS5 controller, I can hear audio fine — but my voice doesn’t transmit at all.

I’ve double-checked PS5 mic settings, input device selection, and mic levels. The PS5 just doesn’t seem to detect the mic.

Is this a known PS5 limitation with analog (3.5mm) headset microphones?

Any clarification or recommended adapters would be appreciated. Thanks!
