Should I buy a Macbook Pro

Currently using a 2023 Dell XPS 13 Plus (9320), i7, 32 GB RAM, 1 TB storage. Thinking about switching to a MacBook Pro M1 with 32 GB RAM.

My workload is pretty tame and pretty much just consist of VS Code, Excel, and RStudio. I keep a lot of things open so the 32 GB matters, but performance on my current machine is honestly fine. I don’t really feel like I need more CPU power.

The real problem is battery life. It’s genuinely awful and it’s bad enough that it’s pushing me toward a MacBook even though I’ve never liked macOS.

For people using an M1 Pro with 32 GB: how’s it holding up? Since it’s a few generations old now I’m mostly wondering about longevity over the next 4–5 years.
