Clearing Up Exacliburn's/Exaclibur's ability
I've a lot of discourse about how Excaliburn works when it comes to mario's invicniblity forms and recently the 1-Up mushroom and since no one wants to actually dicuss how it would work I'll do it myself.
First off the Black Knight/King Arthur isn't an just some illusion, it's a walking magic puppet that merlin made a royal couple conceive and then kidnapped. An illusion yes but same time a puppet.
Now the scabbard in the game does provide what I call immortality level 1 (since lets be honest immortality has levels to it) you know the the one where you can still take damage and get weakened but you'll regenerate and will immediately get revived if you're out right killed. The scabbard is more like an infinite use health potion if you asked me.
Now moving onto base form Exacliburn what does he do? Nothing, bro is a +5 magic weapon. BUT when used with the other 3 scared swords, still in base form by the way creates a spell that negates magic, such as negating the magic of the scabbard. All 4 swords were needed to make that happen
So what does that mean for True Form Excaliburn aka Excalibur? Remember at the end of the game the other swords fuse into Excaliburn so he becomes Excalibur, which means he can now negate any kind of magic by himself. Such as cutting through Meralina's barrier's and negating her immortality that she would've gotten from the scabbard.
So to answer the question. No Excalibur can't cut through any of Mario's invincibility. But unfortunately that doesn't matter, why? Because Sonic would just be knocking Mario out of those forms with a Soul Surge or just negating the use of an item with a magic circle.
That's how Excalibur, also sidenote Sonic doesn't need to gather the scared swords to make Excalibur again as at the end of the other swords don't reappear as they are now apart of Excaliburn but he just de-transforms back to his base state.
