for immigrants from very religious or traditional cultures, how do you view everyday life in places where most people don’t share your customs or beliefs?
genuine question. if you grew up somewhere where religion, traditions, dress, and social norms are a big part of daily life, what was it like moving to a place where most people live very differently? things like people dressing casually, not observing religious customs, dating openly, drinking, etc. from your perspective, did locals seem strange at first the same way immigrants can sometimes feel unfamiliar to locals? i’m mostly curious how people experience and process that cultural gap over time.
