Thoughts about Khamenei
hi there! non muslim, agnostic here. before you come at me, please hear me out. i just want to know a few things about islam and figured y'all would know better than me.
my bsf is a muslim. i have never spoken to her about religion before because i find it inappropriate, and moreover i am scared to, if that makes any sense?
we would speak about other things like marriage, dowry, oppression of women and always had similar views, which would culminate in long, fruitful discussions. this led me to believe she was a feminist too.
but i got the shock of my life when i found she was mourning that tyrant, and infact believed that he was a feminist and defender of women's rights and dignity - such was the extent of her brainwashing.
we got into a huge fight over it, and it ended up getting quite ugly with her straight up denying the crimes the regime was responsible for. does islam really blind you to the extent where you will support someone regardless of their crimes against humanity, just because they are a muslim? and the person in question is highly educated.
right now, my worldview is shattered because this has made me realise how religion will always come first for some people, no matter what.
does this also mean that i will always be worse than any muslim sinner in her eyes, just because i am a non believer?
i don't think our friendship will ever be the same now and i say this for someone i have loved dearly, dare i say, as much as family.
