The Women In The Yard - end
For anyone who’s actually seen this "powerful masterpiece," can you explain what the hell happened at the end?
Death talks her into killing herself, she says goodbye to her kids and sends them off to the next village, goes back into the house... then there's a shot of her about to shoot herself, but apparently, she changes her mind? You don't hear a gunshot, not at her and not at Death. Suddenly, mom walks out of the house, and the kids—who should be halfway to the next village by now—are just standing at the door waiting for her. Like, WTH?
I like simple horror movies, but I need them to have some basic logic. I get that she "chose life" or whatever, but how is it technically possible that Death (who was literally throwing knives at them two minutes ago) is suddenly totally fine with her backing out?
And the kids at the door... I don't get this trend of making these "abstract" endings. I guess the director wanted to say she found some inner strength, but it’s still complete BS and makes no sense logically. They’re trying so hard to add some "philosophical depth," but it just feels forced. Why couldn’t we get a proper fight, some drama, or a real twist? Why do I have to spend time wondering who lost their mind in the writers' room for a B-movie? If you’re making a simple horror, just stick to the concept. Why overcomplicate it with this nonsense?
For me, this movie has one of the most f***ed up (and not in a good way) endings I’ve ever seen. What’s your "favorite" B-movie with an absolutely brain-dead ending?
