Why do I feel like I’m destined to settle down for someone I won’t like?

Every time i try to date or know someone (i.e. downloading a dating app) I feel like I only get attention from people I’m not interested in, and those I’m avrually interested in always seem to slip away for one reason or the other.

I know I have pretty high standards, I really don’t want to date someone just to date someone, I want him to be everything I want in a man, but I do wonder if this behavior is bad for me and/or is sabotaging my love life and I should lower my standards instead. I’m feeling like it’s all for nothing and my ideal partner doesn’t exist at all. Has anyone else experienced this?
